The PAL-1 Pleat Assembly Line is an automated system manufactured by Filtration Technology Systems (FTS) designed for high-speed air filter production. It automates the process of securing pleated media into frames, specifically targeting efficiency and consistency in the assembly of residential and industrial filters.

Automated Pleat Handling: The PAL-1 automatically picks up pleats directly from an FTS Pleater and places them into a lugged conveyor system.
Spacing Maintenance: The conveyor maintains precise spacing between pleats to ensure uniform air flow and structural integrity in the final product.
Adhesive Application: Chipboard stock (the frame material) is automatically attached to the pleat peaks using a hot-melt adhesive system. This can be applied to both the top and bottom of the pleat pack as required.
Automated Cutting: Once the pleat pack is assembled and glued, the system can automatically cut it to the specified size.
Integration: The PAL-1 is designed to work in conjunction with other FTS equipment, such as the ABF-1 Automatic Board Feeder and various framing machines, to create a complete end-to-end production line.
