The Horizon BQ-470 PUR / EVA Perfect Binder is a fully automated, production-level, four-clamp perfect binder. It is highly regarded in the mid-range print finishing market for its interchangeable glue tank design, which allows print shops to switch quickly between standard EVA hot-melt and heavy-duty Polyurethane Reactive (PUR) adhesives.
Features & Specifications:
• Production Speed: Up to 1,350 books per hour using EVA adhesive, or up to 1,000 books per hour using PUR adhesive.
• Book Thickness: Dynamically handles block thicknesses ranging from 1 mm to 65 mm (0.040" to 2.56").
• Maximum Book Size: Supports book blocks up to 320 mm x 320 mm (12.59" x 12.59").
• Minimum Book Size: Accommodates blocks down to 145 mm x 105 mm (5.71" x 4.14").
• Maximum Cover Size: Supports covers up to 320 mm x 660 mm (12.59" x 25.98")
Technical Features:
• Interchangeable Glue Tanks: Features a slide-out modular design. Operators can swap the physical MU-470EVA or Teflon-coated MU-470PUR tanks in just a few minutes using a specialized lifter system.
• Automated Touchscreen Setup: Operates via a 10.4-inch LCD touchscreen control panel. Inputting book dimensions prompts stepper motors to automatically configure the clamps, guides, glue application, and nipping widths.
• Cover Feeding & Scoring: Equipped with a high-capacity rotary suction cover feeder featuring integrated scoring mechanisms to generate neat, crisp hinges on finished covers.
• Advanced Spine Preparation: Features an aggressive spine-milling and roughing unit (milling depth up to 4 mm) combined with an integrated waste extraction vacuum to remove paper dust
